Gday all,
I've still been quiet, I've been reviewing some of the articles lately and feel that I need to do some rewrites. The Pecking Order is, I am afraid, going to be put to rest for the time being - I am uncertain I am able to do it proper justice at present. I will instead concentrate on filling a couple of gaps in the knowledge on the site (interface, macros, that kind of thing) and look at refining the existing articles.
That is not what I am here to say today though. A few months ago my boss asked for volunteers to take place in something called the CARE New Media Challenge. It comprises of 24km bike ride, 16km run, and 2km canoe segments. I'm not looking forward to the running. This is why I've not really had much time to keep Strayegg active lately!
Anyway, as part of this we are of course raising some funds for the charity CARE International UK. I thought I'd make an appeal to the readers of Strayegg to see if any of you felt like sponsoring our team!
If you would like to sponsor us, then you can do so through our page on Just Giving. Sponsor MSO.net on the CARE New Media Challenge
More information on the challenge is available here : Care New Media Challenge
Thank you to any of you that do contribute, every little helps! Until next time, Aeiedil out!

Hope it goes well for you. I'm a fan of triathlons and the canoe part is an interesting twist. How hilly is the bike and run? 16km is nothing to sneeze at and hills could make it even crazier!
I'm expecting quite hilly, it's down in Dartmoor :)
I've never been much of a runner, is why that bit is worrying me a bit :) Cycling though, that's a different matter :) Very happy on my bike!
Thank you for the sponsorship though Relevart :)
My pleasure! Best of luck in the event and I hope you reach your goal!
Only two bits of advice on the running side of things are make sure you do enough practice beforehand! the difference it made when I was training for the half marathon was astounding!
Secondly, start off slow, nothing worse than getting 2-3 miles in knowing you've over extended! run a negative split if you can (second half quicker) it will feel better after you've done some slow miles to speed up, than the other way round :)
Thanks for the advice :)
At the moment I've got back into cycling, as I've been not exercising for a while + am quite fond of cycling. Just had to totally overhaul my bike first!
But yes, I do need to start on running too shortly :) Just need to sort out some good shoes for it first :) The shoes I use for cycling are probably not too suitable for a lot of running, and neither are my boots :(
